Housing Pets Pets are allowed in only 6 of the temporary lodging units on base. If a pet friendly unit is not available you will have to use one of the local kennels. Before you move pets, insure they have all required vaccinations or they won't be able to stay in local area kennels. Many kennels will not accept your animal without vaccination records. Average daily rates for boarding cats and dogs range between $6 and $15, depending on the size of the animal. Some kennels do board exotic animals and birds. Most require a health certificate, especially for birds, that was issued within the past thirty days. There are no boarding kennels on base. Call ahead commercial: (623) 856-3941 or (623) 935-2641, DSN: 896-3941for rates and ask about any additional fees. Click here for more information about Pets.

Must Know for 1st Termers First term airmen should report to their squadron immediately upon arrival. Please be prepared to in process immediately and have a uniform set aside for this. After you have done squadron in processing, you will be assigned to the First Term Airman Center (FTAC) for 14 days where you will complete your base in processing. If you arrive after duty hours, go to the Fighter Country Inn (lodging) and report to your squadron the following duty day. We recommend you try to arrive during duty hours so you can be assigned a dormitory room. If this isn’t possible, try to obtain temporary living facilities on base where lodging is less expensive. You can call the billeting office twenty-four hours a day at DSN 896-3941. Unaccompanied airmen you can expect to be assigned a dormitory room, however availability is based on dorm occupancy and does vary from squadron to squadron. To apply to live off base you must contact the Luke Housing Office located in the Support Center, Bldg. 1150, after your arrival to sign up on the BAH waiting list. If you find a residence off base, ask the electric company to review average summer bills when air conditioning costs are highest.

Airman's Attic The Airman’s Attic offers young Airmen and their families a place to pick up household items, clothes, and toys for children -- free of charge. The facility, located in small building on Luke Air Force Base, is run by volunteers and stocks items military members want to pass on. New Airmen just starting out appreciate what the attic has to offer. The attic offers a great opportunity for the base community as well as the off-base community to support Airmen. Recently, the attic reopened at Luke and volunteers are looking to increase the selection the attic currently provides. To get more information click here.
