Be consistent: Consistency with the room’s use, for a example in a dinning room you will need tables and chairs; in a bedroom- a bed, a night table and so on. That is the first part, the other is that the furniture has to combine well together. This does not necessarily mean that everything has to be part of the same pattern but it does mean being consistent with the style you want. There can be, and probably will be, times when you have individual pieces of furniture or even one specific one that you just can’t live without. So even if it is hard to mix styles you can integrate colors. Also a great thing about some rules is that you can break them. In this case it can mean that the table or armchair that you want can be located in the room to stand out amongst everything else.
Accessories can be anything from hurricanes to pinecones. Hurricanes are great because of the candle that they can hold. Pinecones are always in Christmas decor and a little fake snow makes them feel like Christmas. Ribbons are a nice addition to the centerpiece while they can be wrapped around or tied in a bow.
The kind of material of the dining room furniture is very important, as far as the pricing and the degree of care is concern. Some materials are too fragile and they may require that you have the right kind of plans in place to avoid losses. There are situations that such dining room furniture may not be ideal for your home. A good example is the case where you have children that are young and very playful or a pet that is likely to cause any breakages.
Arrangement It is not enough only to be aware of the size of your room and act accordingly. First you should consider the general space available and how much furniture you need, then you need to choose what furniture should go where and at what angles. This is a difficult task and one that needs careful thought. There are many different philosophies on the subject. Some like to keep a very symmetrical style, while others prefer an organic free flowing style. Experiment with different setups and gauge your guests reaction and their interaction. If everyone is standing instead of sitting down, you may want to change things around!
